Fashion Walks Off the Runway and Goes Outside the Box to get Refocused at BoxEight

Eight Editorial Photoshoots | One Location | Live in Front of Hundreds of Onlookers

BOXeight FASHION reFOCUS

Spring / Summer 2009

OCTOBER 2008

The Lloyd Klein Couture Spring 2009 collection is staged at the "BOXeight ReFOCUS" Fashion Week in Los Angeles. The event was one of those "out-of-the-box" program ideas that set raised the bar, for innovative thinking. Ten Los Angeles based fashion designer collections, were matched with one of ten Los Angeles based photographers. The photo shoots were conducted live in front of the audience of 100's, who at random could stop and observe any of the simiultaneous photoshoots, in what could be termed, "performance fashion art". Luke Duval, was the assigned photographer for Lloyd Klein. They had never worked with each other and that sort of made it even more exciting for everyone involved. The pairing couldn't have been more perfect. He managed to get 6 consistent knock out images for a 5-page spread in one 5 hour evening. Sometimes pressure to perform, is a very good thing. ...Bravo Luke!

Spring / Summer 2010

OCTOBER 2009

The Lloyd Klein Couture Spring 2010 collection returned for the "Second Annual BoxEight ReFocus" for Fashion Week. This time the designer was allowed to bring the photographer of their choice and Lloyd Klein chose Robert Voltaire. Robert normally prefers to shoot alone without anyone else but the model and himself if he can. "No MUAH", sans stylists, without assistants shooting in front of a live audience that included the designer, make-up and hair team all watching in a sort of outrageous cocktail party atmosphere. It was a first for him and he showed what a great artist he is with the camera, a beautiful model and a little iconic fashion from Lloyd Klein.

Lloyd Klein Collection Review

Classic Sophisication for the Woman of Luxury at LA Fashion Week

by Elizabeth Regal

"Lloyd Klein mirrored Le Corbusiers theory about reflection in his Spring 2010 presentation of evening wear. The classic merlot flowing floor length evening gown with matching kimono style creating a sectional balance to her lengthy torso, a philosophy of meticulously calculated scale of human proportions throughout his collection. His collection is timeless, passionate, and unpredictably inspirational, awaiting the moment to be seen once again on the elite runways of Paris Fashion Week."
